CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE

We are incredibly proud to announce that both Posana locations—Downtown Asheville and Biltmore Park—have been recognized with the 2026 Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence. In its inaugural year, our South Asheville location joins our downtown restaurant in celebrating this prestigious honor.

A Legacy of Passion and Dedication

Our journey with Wine Spectator began in 2014 when Posana was the only independent restaurant in Asheville to earn the Award of Excellence. We raised the bar in 2018 by achieving the Best of Award of Excellence, a distinction we have now maintained for nine consecutive years.

Specifically, the “Best of Award of Excellence” recognizes wine lists that display excellent breadth across multiple regions and significant vertical depth from top producers. In addition to offering at least 350 selections, these restaurants are considered destinations for serious wine lovers. Furthermore, earning this high-level award represents a deep commitment to wine.  This is evidenced by both the cellar’s diversity and the service team’s expertise. At Posana, this means sourcing from small-production vineyards that focus on organic, sustainable, or biodynamic growing practices.

Shout-Outs to Our Visionary Leaders

Most important, we want to highlight the visionary leaders who made this possible:

Jesus Zafiro (Wine Director | Biltmore Park): Jesus leads the program at our South Asheville location, managing a list of 360 selections with an inventory of 1,600 bottles. Under his leadership, the Biltmore Park location has quickly become a destination for serious wine lovers.

Nikki Dabbs (Wine Director | Downtown): Nikki oversees our downtown cellar, which currently features 405 selections and an inventory of 1,100 bottles. Her curated list showcases particular strengths in wines from California, Italy, and France.
