Posana Featured Wine
JONES VON PETIT MANSENG 2016 | YADKIN VALLEY
BY THE BOTTLE / 45
The May Wine Feature is a petite manseng made here in North Carolina by a family-owned winery, Jones Von Drehle Vineyards and Winery!
Enjoy the results of their efforts with this smooth, tropical and robust 2016 Petite Manseng. Notice the subtle notes of bitter pineapple, star fruit and crisp acidity on the palate. This will pair wonderfully with our Spanish octopus, ricotta gnocchi or kale salad. Grab a glass or a bottle of this wine and sip away while taking in the brilliant spring time weather on our outdoor patio.
The story of Jones von Drehle Vineyards and Winery began in 2007 when in-laws Chuck & Diana Jones and Ronny & Raymond von Drehle discovered a perfect piece of land in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Thurmond, NC. They created an Estate Winery, planting carefully selected varieties of grapes among the thirty acres.
Cheers!
Award-Winning Wine Lists
Posana holds distinguished awards from Wine Spectator. Posana was Asheville’s only independent restaurant in 2014 to be awarded Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence. We have continued to achieve that level of recognition through 2018 when they kicked things up a notch and earned Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence, once again to be the only independent restaurant in Asheville to achieve this level of recognition. Posana’s cellar focuses on sourcing wine from small production vineyards with a focus on organic, sustainable, or biodynamic growing and production principles. Posana has maintained Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence consistently since 2018. Recipients of Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence offer a wine list displaying “an excellent breadth across multiple winegrowing regions and/or significant vertical depth of top producers, along with superior presentation. Typically offering 350 or more selections, these restaurants are destinations for serious wine lovers, showing a deep commitment to wine, both in the cellar and through their service team.”
