2018 Alma de Cattleya Chardonnay | Sonoma

From winemaker Bibiana Gonzalez Rave, this juicy, refreshing Chardonnay is a perfect symphony of Sonoma County grapes with Rave’s Colombian flair. “Alma” means soul, and Cattleya is the national flower of Rave’s home country of Colombia. Beautifully textured, these wines deliver a burst of fresh stone and tropical fruit in the mouth, supported by a touch of new French oak and partial malolactic fermentation for a wine that is pure California with a southern twist.

Jose Michel & Fils, Tradition Brut Champagne | Moussy, Champagne, France

Light and bright, this month’s wine list features Jose Michel & Fils Champagne Brut that carries similar characteristics to that of Summer. A blend of 70% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay, creates a complex sparkling that’ll have your senses picking up generous amounts of citrus aromas and mineral complexity.
The champagne will pair wonderfully with our grilled Spanish octopus, seared scallops, local mushroom pizza or gooey butter cake. Grab a bottle of this refreshing champagne and cheers to a summer back with friends.
Award-Winning Wine Lists
Both Posana and Bargello hold distinguished awards from Wine Spectator. Posana was Asheville’s only independent restaurant in 2014 to be awarded Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence. They have continued to achieve that level of recognition through 2018 when they kicked things up a notch and earned Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence, once again to be the only independent restaurant in Asheville to achieve this level of recognition. Posana’s cellar focuses on sourcing wine from small production vineyards with a focus on organic, sustainable, or biodynamic growing and production principles. Posana has maintained Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence consistently since 2018. Recipients of Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence offer a wine list displaying “an excellent breadth across multiple winegrowing regions and/or significant vertical depth of top producers, along with superior presentation. Typically offering 350 or more selections, these restaurants are destinations for serious wine lovers, showing a deep commitment to wine, both in the cellar and through their service team.”
Bargello, opening in October of 2019, launched with a magnificent wine list curated by Sommelier Emily Dunnaway and went on to receive the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator in 2020. We look forward to sharing our collections with you!
