Recipe Friday: Posana’s Vanilla Ice Cream

It’s Labor Day weekend…the last official summer holiday. Want to go out with a bang? Try your hand at Posana’s own vanilla ice cream.

2 c cream
2 c whole milk
6 oz egg yolks
9 oz sugar
1 vanilla bean

Bring cream, milk and half of sugar to a boil
Whisk egg yolks and remaining sugar together, then slowly add to cream mixture
Add vanilla bean

Strain mixture through a chinois
Cool completely
Add to ice cream maker and follow instructions from manufacturer.
