Posana’s bar offers an abundance of contemporary cocktails, many with seasonal influences as well as classics with a modern twist. Our shelves exhibit an impressive collection of over 150 spirits complimented by a magnificently curated wine list of over 200 selections of organic, biodynamic, sustainable or local wines. Posana is currently Asheville’s only independent restaurant earning Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Befitting Asheville’s dizzying array of breweries we offer an ever-changing selection of local brews on tap as well as a generous collection of Gluten Free and Gluten Reduced beer.
Our menu showcases a variety of spirits from across the globe. At first glance you may notice our recent focus has been on our whiskeys. In the past decade mixologists have experienced a surge of interest in American whiskey, making bourbon the drink of choice for many of our patrons. We are seeing common whiskey drinkers and aficionados who are more knowledgeable about brands, what they mean, and where they come from. For this reason, we have a finely trained and vetted bar staff, mixologists who have a strong desire for unique craft-style whiskeys. From classic Kentucky bourbons to lesser known malted and rye whiskeys, Posana’s collection is ever growing. We currently offer bottlings from the Colonel E.H. Taylor line, selections from the Willett distillery in Bardstown, some of the latest releases from Diageo’s Orphan Barrel project, and many of Buffalo Trace’s most prestigious whiskies such as Elmer T. Lee’s Single Barrel and Old Weller Antique.
When creating our drink menu, Posana mixologists ensure that every aspect of creativity is coupled with the fundamental culinary understanding of flavor and balance. Our specialty cocktails change frequently, often inspired by seasonal ingredients, while our passion for classics is evident through our selection and knowledgeable bar staff. We take great pride in purveying a great liquor selection and Posana has one of the best collections of spirits in town. In a world full of liquor and cocktails, there are many ways to celebrate the expressions of these great spirits. We would love to help you find yours.
